Architecture

Technical evaluation guidance.

Local services, distinct responsibilities

Atlas brings identity, communication, files and backups together as coordinated local services. Argos manages firewalling, routing, protected connections, traffic priorities and name resolution. The two products retain distinct roles and operating cycles, making maintenance, dependencies and responsibilities clearer.

Cloud optional, explicit dependencies

Administration and services are local. system updates, DNS lists, security rules, external mail and site links may require connectivity and external services. No mandatory vendor cloud does not mean no network dependencies.

Recovery and continuity

Atlas exposes backup and recovery; Argos persists confirmed rulesets and provides timed ruleset rollback. Multi-WAN handles uplink failures. None of these features constitutes an appliance HA cluster or certified RPO/RTO.

Reference topologies

Diagrams describe single-site, branch and IT/OT separation. Inter-site lines represent VPN profiles to configure, not an automatic mesh. For partner management, Argos supports authorized Citadel pairing with revocable administrative access.
